Green Corridors Scythe Fest - Derwenthorpe, York

14th August 6-8pm

Ever wanted to have a go at scything? Or, want an opportunity to get some practice and learn from others? Join the Green Corridors team this summer for a series of drop in 'have-a-go' sessions to learn the heritage skill of scything.

Scything is a more wildlife-sensitive alternative to strimmers and mowers, and also a really effective full body workout if done correctly. Scythes can be used for cutting grass, nettles, brambles and up to 1 year old selfseeded saplings, making them a really versatile & green tool.

Outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear recommended.

Meet at St Aelreds meadow Derwenthorpe, just opposite 67 St Aelreds Mews. What3words - https://w3w.co/harsh.tilt.swim

This is a drop-in session, so there is no need to book!

Under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.
