Improving the Grassland on the City Walls - Lord Mayors Walk
Thursday 30th July 9.30am-12.00
Contact us if you would like a longer session
Help us to manage the grassland areas along Lord Mayors Walk, a beautiful section of the city walls.
Our aim is to improve the value of the site for the benefit of people and wildlife. The activity will involve scything the grass and then raking off the cuttings to stop extra nutrients getting back into the soil. This will encourage a wider range of plant species to grow and stop invasive species such as docks and nettles from taking over.
The nearest facilities are at St John's University (about a 2 min walk). The session is suitable for groups of 15-20 people.
Book this session for your team by clicking below. A member of staff will then be in touch to confirm your booking and discuss details. For more information, contact Jonathan Dent by emailing jonathan@stnicks.org.uk.
If there are any health or mobility issues within your group that may affect someone carrying out the task, please get in touch and we will see what we can do to support you as there may be alternative tasks available. However not all tasks and sites are fully accessible.
