Improving Wildflower Areas on Millennium Fields

Wednesday 15th July 9.30am-3.30pm

Help us to manage the wildflower meadow on Millennium Fields, a popular area which offers a variety of different habitats for wildlife!

Our aim is to improve the value of the site for the benefit of people and wildlife. The activity will involve power scything the grass and then raking off the cuttings to stop extra nutrients getting back into the soil. This will encourage a wider range of plant species to grow and stop invasive species such as docks and nettles from taking over.

The nearest facilities are at Cycle Heaven (about a 10min walk). The session is suitable for groups of 5-12 people. If your group is bigger than this, please get in touch and we will see what we can do. Timings can be changed if you would like to complete a half-day.

Book this session for your team by clicking belowA member of staff will then be in touch to confirm your booking and discuss details. For more information, contact Nicola Ward by emailing nicola@stnicks.org.uk.

If there are any health or mobility issues within your group that may affect someone carrying out the task, please get in touch and we will see what we can do to support you as there may be alternative tasks available. However not all tasks and sites are fully accessible.
